We were commissioned by our client to create dual curved stairways to be combined with planters and bench seating to the front.

For reasons of both appearance and longevity the stairs were constructed using solid oak boards bonded to a ply substrate on top of a 3 x 2 framework, with curved blackened steel routered into the nosing’s.

The planters were constructed with solid oak slats fixed back to Birch Plywood, with the bench seat pads being upholstered with an iron leatherette.

The finish to the stairway and planters was a clear fire-rated lacquer to comply with fire regulations.
