Clifftops is a unique development of five luxury lodges that sit on the edge of the beautiful Pennsylvania Castle Estate in Portland on the South coast.
They have literally been hewn out of the stone cliffs and now form an integral part of the historic estate landscape whilst respecting the natural environment of the Jurassic Coast.
Our part in the project involved us both manufacturing and fitting extensive aspects of the interior fit including the bespoke kitchens, wall panels, internal and external doors and the stair handrails.
The kitchens were manufactured using slipped matched Oak veneer with a limed finish and incorporated a hidden finger pull detail rather than the traditional handle. Each of the individual wall panels used a 3mm Oak veneer onto black core MDF into which we CNC`d the distinctive 4mm grooves before these were also limed to match the kitchen.
Maintaining the look throughout the lodges saw us again use oak veneer on each of the doors whilst the door frames and stair handrails were made using solid oak and treated to the same matching finish. For a point of difference all external doors were finished in a graphite grey to provide a point of contrast.
